Our line has always been that our family takes care of you and your family. This Halloween we're taking it literally. Meet the JR Family — and enter our Best Dressed Halloween House competition, with £100 of Amazon vouchers for the winner in every one of our 8 areas.
Why we're doing this
Because moving house is serious. We don't have to be.
Selling or buying a home is one of the biggest things a family does, and most estate agency marketing treats it with a straight face and a stock photo. We would rather you met the people who will actually be looking after you — even if, this month, they are wearing pinstripes and a moustache.
Every face in the JR Family is one of our own — three of our directors, and their families.
Every October, streets across Cardiff, the Vale, Caerphilly and Bristol put on a show — cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons climbing out of front gardens. We sell and let homes on those streets all year, so this is our way of celebrating the people who go all out, and putting something towards an even bigger display next year.

The competition
Best Dressed Halloween House
- Dress your house. Go as spooky, as funny or as over the top as you like. Not yours? Spotted a brilliant one on your street? A friend or neighbour can enter it too — just ask the owner first.
- Post it and tag us. Share a photo or video on your own Instagram or Facebook and tag @jeffrey__ross on Instagram or Jeffrey Ross Estate Agents on Facebook. Say which area the house is in — the street is enough, never the house number.
- Follow us. An entry counts when the account that posted it follows us. Keep the post public, or we can't see it.
- We pick a winner in every area. Our team in each area chooses its best-dressed house, and every winner gets £100 of Amazon vouchers — to spend however they like, or on making next year's house even scarier.

The small print
- Free to enter and open to anyone except Jeffrey Ross staff. You don't need to be buying, selling or letting with us.
- You can enter your own house or someone else's. If it isn't yours, you need the owner's permission to post it and for us to share it.
- To count, a post must tag Jeffrey Ross, be public, come from an account that follows us, and go up between Monday 12 October and 11.59pm on Sunday 1 November.
- One prize per house, and one winner per area, chosen by our team in that area on effort, imagination and sheer scare factor. Their decision is final.
- We contact winners by direct message from our official accounts only, @jeffrey__ross and Jeffrey Ross Estate Agents. We will never ask for bank details, a password or a payment. Winners are announced on Friday 6 November. If a winner hasn't replied within 14 days, we choose another.
- By entering, you agree we may reshare your photo on our own channels, crediting you. We will never publish a house number.
- The prize is a £100 Amazon.co.uk gift card for each area winner. There's no cash alternative. Amazon is not a sponsor of this competition.
