Cathays is defined by its position: Cardiff University’s main campus on one side, the civic centre and Bute Park on another, and Cathays station in the middle. The housing is dense Victorian and Edwardian terraces, most of them two-storey, many converted to multiple occupancy.
Crwys Road and Woodville Road carry the shops, takeaways and pubs. The National Museum, City Hall and the law courts are a few minutes’ walk through the civic centre.
The market here is unlike anywhere else we cover — driven far more by rental yield and the academic year than by owner-occupier demand.
