Every home sold in the Rhiwbina ward (within CF14 6) in the twelve months to April 2026, not only ours. The change compares each kind of home against its own kind a year earlier — detached against detached, flats against flats — because a median follows what happened to sell as much as what it is worth. Living in Rhiwbina
Rhiwbina began as a garden village. The arts-and-crafts cottages laid out before the First World War around Lon-y-Dail and Y Groes are still the most distinctive housing in north Cardiff, and the interwar and post-war streets that grew around them borrowed the same generosity — wide verges, long gardens, trees.
Beulah Road is the village centre, with a run of independent shops that has survived where many suburban parades have not. The Wenallt and Caerphilly mountain rise directly behind, and Rhiwbina has its own station on the Coryton line into the city.
It is quiet, green and consistently in demand, and it holds its value in a way that makes it one of the more predictable parts of the Cardiff market.
What sells here
Almost the entire market is family houses of three and four bedrooms. The garden village cottages trade in their own right and rarely come up; elsewhere it is interwar semis and detached houses, bought by families moving for the schools and staying.
