Stoke Gifford still has the shape of the village it was — the old lanes and the church around the green — but most of what people buy here was built in the last forty years, as Bristol Parkway and the business parks around it pulled development north.
That station is the main draw. Parkway runs direct to London, Cardiff and the north, which puts Stoke Gifford in a different bracket from the neighbourhoods either side of it for anyone who commutes. The MOD site at Abbey Wood, the aerospace employers at Filton and UWE’s Frenchay campus are all within a couple of miles, and the M4 and M32 are close.
It is greener than its position suggests, with the Three Brooks nature reserve and its lake running through the middle of the housing.
