Living in Fairwater
Fairwater sits west of Llandaff and north of Ely, and most of it was built between the wars and in the two decades after — semi-detached houses on curving roads, with gardens front and back and parking that the Victorian districts closer in simply do not have.
Fairwater Green is the centre, with the shops and the library around it. The Ely valley and the Waterhall woods run along the western edge, and there is more green space here than the map suggests.
Fairwater has its own station on the City line, Ysgol Plasmawr draws Welsh-medium families from a wide area, and Cowbridge Road and the A4232 both put the rest of the city within easy reach.

Three bedroom semis form the core of the market, bought by families and by first-time buyers moving out from Canton and Riverside for space. The larger detached houses towards the Llandaff side sell into a noticeably stronger market than the estate streets.
