Every home sold in the Windmill Hill ward (within BS3 4) in the twelve months to April 2026, not only ours. The change compares each kind of home against its own kind a year earlier — detached against detached, flats against flats — because a median follows what happened to sell as much as what it is worth. Living in Windmill Hill
Windmill Hill is exactly what the name says: a hill south of the river, between Bedminster below it and Totterdown across to the east, with Knowle beyond the top. Victoria Park occupies the eastern half of it, which is the single biggest reason people want to live here — a large, properly used park with the city laid out below it.
The streets are Victorian terraced and many of them are steep, which gives the upper ones views that the flat terraces of BS3 cannot match. Windmill Hill City Farm sits on the northern slope and has been part of the area’s character for decades.
Bedminster station is at the foot of the hill and North Street is a walk across Bedminster, so the area gets the BS3 high streets without sitting on them.
What sells here
The market is terraced, two and three bedrooms. Height matters here in a way it does not elsewhere in Bristol: the same house sells for more the closer it is to the top of the hill or the park, and a view is worth paying for.
